Pump is out. Splines are fine. But the impellor was spinning loose on it's threads. Don't know how that happened. Still checking mid shaft.

Here's some lousy shots of the glass

I wonder if that's how my coupler broke on Sunday. I hit bottom doing a stab about 10 minutes before I heard a "pop" and started to feel vibration. I bet I cracked the coupler doing the stab and the "pop" was the piece breaking free and busting the coupler cover.

Just pulled the battery, fuel tank & water box.
Battery box is shattered.
Somehow one of the hooks that holds the water box (forward) straps got bent over.
Had to bend it back with channel-locks to get the strap out.
Mid shaft seems o.k. Will check position against mama's ski tommorrow.

Dan, I was thinking that maybe when you hit bottom the driveline stopped suddenly and spun the impeller loose?

I checked and I have everything on your list.

Be happy just ski damage, my throttle hand is still sore from thrust sebby lawn dart action

as far as hull damage goes, a straight on lawn dart is not always as bad. Twice I have nose stabbed or done a turn sub and literally swept the bottom and ripped the nose off. Imagine taking a sledge hammer and hitting the upper lip straight down. No damage to engine just the front lip.

I can't complain about it. I know others have been thru worse.

It kinda goes with the territory when you're doin' air tricks.

Funny thing is....I recently got into carving/surfing with the ski. Been rolled hard more times carving than ever doing air stuff.

In the last few years I've gained a lot of respect for surf-riders (as opposed to air tricks)

I guess it boils down to me bein' a "no-trick-pony"

But,...BACKY B4 50 or my ski is for sale!
