he also has the machines to measure everything not just the making of it so if he can build something that can rival the ada or lamey etc it would be great for me if it blows up paul im getting my layme from you!

as long as you change it by 10% it isnt a copy
But its not like the lamey is not a copy of the tz125 cylinder porting
I mean its a two stroke cylinder how different can you make it
I have a near complete iges file of a cylinder i drew if you want it

I agree, even at that pictures are not working drawings and do not provide any sort of accurate measurements of the individual design characteristics that make it a Lamey Cylinder and not just a bigbore cylinder with a large intake tract. It is even less than holding an actual part in your hand. That's like saying its not cool of Dan Lamey to copy Yamaha's cylinder.

Actually we were thinking of creating a dual cylinder combo that means 2 cylinders on top of the stock crank case because my mechanic says the pistons work against each other in a solid unit? is that true or just air talk?

I think you need to elaborate. You are trying to make 2 seperate cylinders for the 62T cases (like a 66E or seadoo motor)? From the way it sounds (to me), what your mechanic is saying is just fluff. The combined cylinder setup would allow for more room for intake and cooling passages. Pretty sure there wouldn't even be enough room on the cases for that setup.

I know i can trust paul's work, so im a reluctant to really do it here becasue in my head the more loose parts in a motor the more there is to brake in the surf... my o2

ok elaborate... each piston gets its own cylinder right next to each other instead of 1 solid cylinder unit with 2 heads if you can call it that... all i really want is a kickass stock stroke surf motor so paul told me non pv lamey 785cc flattop with bpipe msd enhancer single carb is the shizz it sounds awesome to me compared to a unproven dual cylinder?

Like I said, it seems very unlikely to be able to get 2 seperate cylinders on a 62T case, just not enough room and a waste of time in R&D when there are already a couple proven cylinders already manufactured and tested. If you want a Dan Lamey designed cylinder, long stroke and seperate cylinders buy a 66E.

Still Fat....
you can't go wrong with the advice from Paul
he has always exceeded my expectations and is always there for the "after purchase" support, which goes a long way. he has alot of first hand personal experience as to what works and doesn't (or not so well)

he has done every setup for me and my wife, all have been champs....

You do realize that that Factory Yamaha used lamey cylinders in their Pro-Mod race boats in the 90's dont you. Also Lamey has dome R&D work for Yamaha.

I guess I should be flattered a guy is asking for pictures of our hard work versus asking for pictures of someone else's cylinders, I guess.

Not the first time our stuff has been duplicated.

I still feel disturbed when reading this thread.

Yes exactly,

Yamaha contracted Dan to BUILD them a cylinder to dominate watercraft racing and subsequently ruined the series for the privateers.

Definitely was a double-edged sword.

The Lamey cylinder took a dive right after pro racing and the cast tooling was close to being abandoned, right up until the freestyle market took off.
