Lamey Cylinder Pictures Please...

well, you know as well as I...if you TRULY want to compare apples to apples

then you can only use ONE boat, and must change each motor out within the same platform

comparing 2 boats even on a back to back run is not a direct comparison.....but thats not the way it is, the real world is you get to compare by jumping on a friends boat and giving it a rip

Real world?

In a similar hull, I would welcome a well set-up Lamey to a well set-up Xscream boat, of same stroke and bore, pv to pv or non to non. That is real world.

In fact, I would like to see a non biased test made. Then we can settle all the hype.

A comparison is not comparing a bigger displacement motor to a smaller displacement motor or a motor with no pv to a motor with.

Doesn't even make sense, does it? No matter who ends up on top.

I don't even see how you can compare those boats you mentioned, not a one is hardly equal.

they may not be equal but they are sim to alot of motors people have around here,so its good to know what works best compared to everything out there. Id love to see a heads up comp between scream and dasa with stock stroke low $ as possible motors, itll never happen but we can dream right?
Scott I think if both boats have at least sim carb setups and props you have a close enough comparison for freeride,we dont need to beat anyone to the first turn by 2 foot, lol.Im a very brand impartial person,if it works and its cost effective,I want it

its not scary at all...feels electric, like a sewing machine

zero maintenance to the PV's

same motor..2 different hulls.....most of the time that motor doesnt even know its running.....I am expecting at least 3 seasons out of this topend, then it will go back for inspection and a fresh topend (if needed)

Rode with another local this weekend who has the Xscream stock stroke 865 kit (mine is the 785)...He said that the Xscream motor (currently at 827cc's) is WAY stronger than his DASA 920

he in fact termed the DASA motor a POS...said it was completely lacking in bottom end, but had a great mid and top.....

I rode the 827 and it was stout!

a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to ride back to back to back:

my Xscream 735
stock stroke NPV lamey running 240 psi
5mm ada billet with TL

the TL boat was the snappiest, but the X motor felt MUCH stronger than the NPV stock stroke lamey....

Racers edge builds race motors....Xscream builds freestyle motors

Hey IDOK. If that is the case about Racers Edge building Race motors. Then explain all the national and world champions that ran his "Race" motors. Malone, Lenzi, Bogart, Parr, Several of the Japanese, Stone, Hell, more that I cannot remember.

DASA builds motors (not just produces) for all aspects of PWC's. They have for years. How many Lamey's have you actually ridden??? If you rode one that had no bottom, then it was either built for top end, the tuning was off or the Prop pitch was way off. Tricky has 4 SJ's with Lameys of different specs. Stock stroke though 8mm Big Bore Flat Tops. His mildest one will still stretch your arms out.

ok so pv makes a huge difference compared to non pv on the same stroke motor? i have pv on my kawidoo still have to test it on the water but i think its gona suck in the surf, how about pv maintanace in the surf? the surf brakes everything it can... my experience.

The smaller the motor, the more the PV makes a difference. Without a variable exhaust, the Yami exhaust port is just too big for the shorter stroke engines, the bottom end power loss is significant.

The valve and associated hardware needs to be lubricated and kept clean from water intrusion and corrosion, especially in the surf.

I think xmetal and dasa make great motors, really if anyone was lucky enough to run either one they would be stoked I think. Personally I plan on doing a dasa setup someday just to have one and try, there certainly the prettiest of the bunch and have an excellent reputation for big brappp too.

Just my 2 cents. :sneaky:
