I am not Happy-SOB

Yes the red wire going into the rectifier is unplugged...See mouth that is the connecter that combines into one, it combines and goes to the rec.

We don't know excactly when the fuses blow, I will get a couple boxes tommarrow and I think we can find that. But, we did have the stop button switch(RED and BROWN) disconnected when they blew.

Is there a way to run a wire from the start connecter, to the relay? Basically bypass the other wire already there?

It WAS plugged in when it did it,

I dont know if it will do it with it unplugged..Will it start with it unplugged? I am going to see if I have another fuse and try starting it again and find when the fuse busts. Be right back...And I ll get those pics.

Ok.

I found another 10 amp fuse and have it plugged in and I have the ski battery hooked at get 12.35 on the battery....I am going to see what I get at the end of the fuse now, then I ll see what I get at the connecter and so on, I ll also check if it blew when I plugged that battery.

There is Kane, but its not neccesary, really.
Yamaha already designed it to do what it needs to do, sometimes that shade tree temporary fix will show somethign that you dont see though.

to do what you are asking.

simply put battery voltage to the brown wire on the solenoid.

that would be just like everything working well and pushing the start button.

i would disconnect the start sw and rectifier then hook up the battery. if the fuse blows as soon as you hook up the rectifier, you have a bad rectifier or stator. im thinking stator. thatd explain the fuse blowing and the no ground to the box.

keep in mind that if theres no ground to the box, the relay wont engage even iff you connect a lead directly from the batt pos to the brown wire on the relay

Ok,

I just put the ski battery in, and got a 12.35 from it. I plugged it in, checked the fuse, still good....so I put the fuse back in. Unplug rectifier, and the start/stop switch(BOTH CONNECTORS) and bridge the start connecter. I get a weird noise from the battery box...like something is sparking fast...but I did not see anything....and I dont think it is a spark...This noise does not happen everytime...just the first time....Then checked the fuse, and its still good....

correct.

we did NOT verify the ground in the box.

or did we?
in advertantly by testing where the short might be....

a totally open stator woudl do that?

so everything in the E box grounds thru the stator?

Ill find you a schematic Kane.

it will help you, and you will learn alot from it.

I just thought about something,

We tught it might be my battery at first as well,

Could I just run jumpers from the ski battery to the solonoid post wire going to starter and see if it spins?

I am about to hook the rectifier up and bridge the connections...If it blows, then its the rectifier correct?
