This is your certificate stating the Hull Identification Number (HIN) that has been assigned to your watercraft. This number must be permanently affixed in two (2)
places. (A) The primary HIN in watercraft with transoms must be affixed to the starboard outboard side within two inches of the top of transom, gunwale, or hull/
deck joint, whichever is lowest. On watercraft without transoms or impractical to use transom, to the starboard outboard side of hull, aft, within one foot of the
stern and within two inches of the top of the hull side, gunwale or hull/deck joint, whichever is lowest. On catamarans and pontoon boats with replaceable hulls,
to the aft crossbeam, within one foot of the starboard hull attachment. (B) The Duplicate HIN must be affixed in an unexposed location on the interior of the boat
or beneath a fitting or item of hardware. (C) Each HIN must be carved, burned, stamped, embossed, molded, bonded, or otherwise permanently affixed to the
watercraft so that alteration, removal, or replacement would be obvious. Use of a plate must be fastened so that removal would cause scarring or damage to
surrounding hull area. HIN characters must be no less than ¼ inch in height and not attached to any removable part.
For you guys who had HIN's made up for aftermarket hulls, how much did it cost to get a set of tags made up?
I've inquired about getting some Billet ones made or possibly Stainless and just want to know how comparable it will be. Also, did anyone find a shop that would/could make them out of stainless like the factory Yamaha ones?
So far I have;
Billet, $50 each
Stainless $75 each
I'm told that if there is enough interest and a run can be done then the prices could be significantly lower.
Can I bring my machines with?
I'm not thinking about hanging out, I'm talking more along the lines of moving to the 5 acres next door bud.
In southern California a half or full acre is considered quite a spread.

I'll trade you a couple oak trees for a set of cases, I'll even come by and water them for ya! LOL
Why not just have one made from the website I posted, have them put two rows of numbers on one plate. Cut it, drill it and attach them.
You guys get raked over there in Cali. I live out in the country. It's not all bad tho, love the trees in the summer, can't see your neighbors, hate them in the winter when I have to get the leaves up. But, gotta take the good with the bad.
As for the machines, if I could put you up bro, I would. I can only imagine having a competent machinist with good machines to depend on locally. And, it doesn't hurt that your work is friggin beautiful.

...probably for the same reason i don't ride a stock Superjet with a stock engine.
All kidding aside Jason, that is likely what i will do. That's why i was asking in the first place. If a trophy shop wanted $30 then I'd go billet but it's pretty hard to argue with $6 for a HIN. I'd even order extra so if I did break any I'd have a replacement ready to go already.
You only have to buy them once.
That's a pretty neutral comment, you're supposed to be pushing the billet aren't you? :naughty:
trophy shop $3
I feel your pain. My house sits on 5 and a half acres of Oak trees. When we built the house, my wife wanted to leave as many trees as possible. I grew up in house in the middle of a hey field, so I didn't know chit about leaves. Never crossed my mind. The first fall I learned real quick how I wish I would have leveled every friggin tree on the lot.
My only saving grace is my father in law bought one of those pull behind leaf vacuums. I have to be honest, that thing ranks up there with duct tape and vice grips as the greatest inventions known to man.

damn I'd LOVE to have 5 acres.....I have 1/2 acre with 11 Oak trees
its been windy as hell here the past week or 2 and having to skim the pool 3x a day taking out almost a full bag of leaves each time :censored:
I actually like raking, but I refuse to bag......thats what 16 year olds are for
We have a single tree in our front yard that takes 4 months to drop all it's leaves so the job is never done. The wife wants me to cut it down but they are protected by the Homeowners association. I'm going to see if I can replace it with a couple Palms instead.

No different than drilling and attaching a scupper or versiplug.

thats not an oem tag though....
oem are normally plastic on on the top of the side rail at the rear on the right
