FX1 BUILD! 650sx pump, widened tray and more!

Well here it goes! I am 19 years old and I have never done anything like this before...After all the reading I have done over all the different threads and projects, I am confident that I can do this. Jake, Ross, and Eddie from the o-side crew are helping me out and overseeing the project. Jake mostly...Well it is day 1, and I took off all the mats from the gunwales, inner tray, and chin pad. I started late tonight so I only removed the ride plate and intake grate. I just bought a used 650sx pump and I am also looking to get the 900zxi drive shaft that Drav was telling me about. Jake is out in Las Vegas playing the tables and the girls so I am going to wait until he gets back to start cutting out the tray, pump, etc. (if he comes back haha). Well here are pictures of today and I will be posting more pictures as this project goes on. I am really excited and I think it will be a lot of fun too!

7. 25mm adhesive w/ black diamond cut hydro-turf

I'll be back on Monday, so we'll start chopping the tray then. I've already practiced on my '91 square, so I have a good concept on how to attack this thing. I'm gonna shape my own footholds, so you can check mine out and decide what you want to do.

That FX looks so much better already without the purple padding.

dont forget the extended ride plate from protec, helped mine out a lot. and once you put the b pipe and light wheel on, your rev limiter is gonna hold you back. the fx rips hard core with the adj. limiter. good luck with your build bro

Yeah I will look into that, and my ride plate is super long so I should be okay, thanks for the input!

I have a blowsion 1 way on my boat as well....this ski does not allow a DROP of water into the hull

Unfortunately I have stumbled across a little problem. I cannot find a used stainless steel impeller for 140 pump anywhere, if anyone can find one or has one for sell, I will buy it...

(I thought they would be easy to find but apparently not...)

Pick up a good used SXR stocker if you can find it. They usually go about 100 bux, but will need to be re-machined (setback 6mm)

Update: Removed the pump/driveshaft/impeller. Later today I am going to head down to the local pottery and get some clay and shape my footholds...when Jake gets back I can make molds of the footholds with fiberglass...
