l think l have come up with an answer to a problem.Wanted to put drain plugs in my ski,but no room below the scupper and exhaust.ln my work over the years l have used Rivnuts.Basically a rivet with threads in it.These are used commonly to anchor down roof racks when you don't have room or can't get a nut inside a roof panel.
l had some aluminum rivnuts,so l drilled an 3/8" hole,put 5200 sealent around the hole and then installed it like a rivet.Got a couple of small stainless steel bolts and screwed them in.Under most uses you would not be takeing these out all the time,so l plan on putting a little silcone on them and then tightening down.Diff would have to be careful of the threads because of the rivnuts being aluminum.But you could intall these on most skis without having to open up the ski.
