Super Jet Check out this Double Impeller

I saw this Double Impeller at World Finals in the Solas booth. The guy said it was still under development but that it was suppose to load a stock pump similar to how a mag pump works. Interesting to see if they really work.

I thought recently I had heard that some race couches use double impellars...? It'd be interesting to find out what's up though.

I heard that also. I was under the impression that this one was for a Super Jet though. I could be wrong. The guy in the booth didn't seem very knowledgeable about it.

Those are couch impellers

It would have been cooler to use a dual counter rotating impeller setup.

I was talking to a guy the other day that has spent more than 45 years working with turbines for Power Generation and he was asking general questions about our skis and our jet pumps. He kept grilling me on how we straighten the water flow before delivery to the impeller. He simply could not get over the fact that we did not have an impeller before the main impeller to do this. I tried explaining how we use different grates to direct the flow but he was adament that if we were to use a double prop like the higher HP boats do, that we would see a significant increase in efficiency within our pumps.

He was also shocked that they still make standups, lol. :biggrin:

Aerodynamicist dont very well with liquids. They never have to deal with a liquids weight and the fact that it turns to gas at low pressure.

I'm probably wrong also, but I heard they cost something like $700

But now the questions is what will happen if you put one of these inside of Mag pump??? Buah-ha-ha-ha-ha...

The downside would be a bunch more rotating mass which would hurt your bottom end. I wonder if the improved hookup would outweigh that?
