dont get a CF superjet. the sxr sticks much better, which is why eric maloe uses it. granted your not eric malone, but its the better hull even if the sj is 'looser'

I have an sj also, and if I felt like spending alot more money to make one of my sxr's a freestyle ski, I'd do it over an sj in a heartbeat. Just costs too much right now.

im in the same boat as you!!!! i want to have a ski that does free an race really good an i think ill just wait an buy a lite sxr!!! i dont think my knee injury will let me ride in the surf like i used to so im not tripping on how strong the hull is!

Talk to Bobby at Trinity Composites 321-704-9276... he built Malones 05 WF boat, and the Molds of the new EME boats.... he knows his shiet when it comes to composites.

Or give Kevin Collins a call at 561 281 0547... he has someone testing on his hood and rideplate, and I think will be a dealer for Trinity composites

Right now Bobby has a 7lb hood built to hold up in surf.

A 11oz one piece nose piese.

A 2lb Race ride plate

And some rear sponsons

His boat is stripped and Molds are being made for the upper and lower hull next!

If Trinity would have made a lower profile hood with handholds and a different nose piece I would have been all over it. I would rather have the blowsion hood as of right now.

I wish they would make an aftermarket light weight hull with gas cap removed. I lightened mine down to 315 and changed the nose, also lowered my stock hood alot. my stock hood is at 15lbs now.

Bobby didnt want to ruin the lines of the stock SXR. I guess its all a matter of opinion, I think the low pro Blowsion hood kit looks kind of funny. Bobby will have a handhold option. From what I have heard the Blowsion hood and nosepiece weighs 16lbs...... the Trinity hood and nose piece weighs 1/2 of that.....7lbs for the hood, 11oz for the nose piece. Probably a big difference in Materials.

The stock SXR profile is unbeatable. IMHO...... other then the Handle pole..... Id run a stock Superjet Pole.

The Trinity hood simply amazing! Hand holds can be drop in about anywhere on the hood. Yes, it has the OEM hood look but the fit and finish of this piece is just wow. & 7.4 pounds! Race hood is around 3.6 pounds!

As far as a “lowered” set up. The SXR pivot point is already as low as you can get it. One of the reasons for the lowered pivot was because of RRoy. He was going to a SquareSJ to a round nose SJ. He didn’t like the leverage it had so they lowered it and made a hood to fit.

Not to get off top topic. Yes, a lightweight SXR is very nice and would love to have one myself & will soon. Even to race! The hull design still keeps the ski hook up but it does "hunt" a bit in the front (just add lead) which is nothing for Freestyle or freeride.

any idea of the price of the nosepiece? i am looking into doing the internal fill (like the look) and the fact i can get a bit more gas in there (without picking the front end up.

I think the only time a aftermarket hull is needed is flatwater freestyle
I agree with sxrforever with the internal fill. I'm not a fan. It just makes a mess in your motor bay and takes more time
