The wide angle lens is good for shooting footage of yourself. It does not work well with filming others.
X2- The Go Pro comes with two different lens options, wide or fish eye and regular. The wide goes out of focus on anything further than about 10’ so it works best when mounted rearward (to film yourself) The regular gets the all around best footage as you can still film yourself and others too. On sunny days the footage comes out crystal clear, on cloudy days the quality is more grainy.
Check out the latest O’side crew video which was filmed on a cloudy day. The quality is a little grainy so it’s best to watch it half screen. It has both the wide and regular lens shots so you can decide for yourself which camera (or both) to buy.
