Bearskins....

Hmmmmm....
well after reading a few threads (no pun intended) on here about the bearskins, i decided to get one for her for X-mas and someone hooked us up.

Well when she opened it, she was surprised how large it is, and i explained what is was and she was like cool. so we go to wash it per the intructions on the tag.
NOTE:
made in Pakistan....
nuff said... they really should just keep to harbouring terrorists and bothering India because they can't make clothes for (insert your words of choice here)

I want to leave appropriate feedback and perhaps we had a dud. the washer and drier had so much lint/crap/junk from washing it that it made a real mess. and honestly i was expecting a little as some clothes and what not do things like that.
also it seems that alot of the threadding inside is what i would call sub par. you can see some of the threadding seems to be pulling or has the potential to start pull very shortly.
don't get me wrong, i think it's a wonderful product idea, but would have been much better it if were made better or with better material, and yes i know, that would add expense to the product.
again, perhaps we got a dud, or that others don't wash theirs, but after the washing you can see the lack of quality in the product.

I am just leaving this as feedback from what happened to hers. it's still useable, just goning to have alot of fuzz balls and lint to pick off, and you know how girls are with things like that.

not sure if anyone else had problems with theirs.

ordered one for her as well with my last blowsion order. she liked it ALOT, cool idea great product that i recomend to anyone. I understand your concerns about the quality though...had similar concerns. have not washed or used it yet so i'll look out for what u mentioned...

I ordered it from Blowsion.
as i mentioned with material of this type when you wash things like this it will leave a mess. she always has to wash clothes first as she is hypo-allergenic.

the issue i point out is similar to like washing towells, when they are new, sometimes they will leave residue behind in the washer, and of course the lint catcher will get full (naturally to be expected) and as i mentioned you will get some with materials that are in this type of product (Bearskins in our case)

i am in no way slamming the product, but suggesting perhaps better material or processing to improve it. Maybe if we re-wash it we wont have the same issues (or not as much)

I was just concerned about the loose type of threading and threadding inside (again a QC issue to me) and since she loves to sow and crochet she can easily fix them if she wants to.

I'm not looking to return it or anything, as shipping here is insanely expensive. the UPS store loves all their surcharges and with the snowbirds around, i prefer not to drive (ok we also don't know our way around that much yet lol)

i just wanted to see if anyone else noticed these problems, especially the washing part.
it looks like a nice comfy robe to use on the cold mornings in the dessert though

Hey Don, I’ve washed my Bare Skin already and besides the usual lint from the first wash have had absolutely no problems with it. I would try washing it again. If you did happen to get a dud then it’s probably just that- a dud, as the quality of mine is fine. PM Jake with your concerns. I happen to know both Jake and Ross personally and they are both good, honest guys that will make things right for you. BTW Matt Smith and I may make it out to Yuma the first weekend on Janurary (Sat 3rd) Are you up for riding some backwater trails?

Let me see what happens when we wash it again.
we just weren't expecting that much stuff left in the machines, or all the loose threadding on it, and yes it is more than quiet possible that we received one that was a dud or just didn't get the best quality applied.

Ha! It's a "BareSkin" - I see now!

Since you typed "bear skin", I thought you meant it was a bear skin - to which I wondered, why the f*ck would Don wash a bear skin.

just pulled it out the washer. No abnormal lint, I was expecting more...really no complains, great product!!
respectable move by jake to take care of the problem... Props for that!

Hey Don,

Sorry to hear you had problems with washing it. Please let me know when you wash it again.

I have washed a few and have not had problems with them...what color did you get?

If you continue to have problems, I or Jake would be happy to send you out another one, or do what ever it takes to make you and your wife happy.

I am really intrested to hear any other concerns people have who are using them. I'd like to be sure that we are selling something that people feel is a good value and will like and use. That is why we offer a 150% refund on orders through our website. That way if you want to return it to us, you are not out the cost of shipping both ways.

Thanks also for the positive comments guys!
