I've got 5 or 6 years on my jet works -- never used any special charger with it either. Just hit it with the trickle charger 2-3 times over the winter.

i had a yuasa gel cell for 5 years on 01 sxipro(oem battery) with no problems.i think i recharged it maybe twice all these years on basic century charger.finally gave up ghost this september.bought another yuasa.

So on the JetWorks website when you click the Internet Specials link from the homepage it takes you to a page with the battery tender and the battery tender mini. The battery tender mini still costs less then the regular tender with the 20% discount, and they both say they do the same exact thing. So why would anybody want the larger charger that cost more? Am I missing something?

Battery and tender came today.

Tender - Extremely pleased with this item. It's a quality item and it perfect for the battery.

KB35XC Sealed battery - Havent got a chane to ride with it yet but i am digging the nice design and good quality look. I am however disapointed in the weight. I figured I'd save a few pounds since I was switching to a nice battery anyway. I only came out like 3 or 4 lbs ahead. I'm guessing a 25lbs. But as long as it performs good, i could care less

I just ordered the jetwerks battery and battery tender mini. Free shipping since I'm in so cal, but I had to pay tax. So with the battery and tender it cost around $127. The guy on the phone said that they come already charged. He also said the only difference between the battery tender and the tender mini was that the mini takes a little longer to charge a battery all the way up, but if it is being used a tender only, it will make no difference.

  Damn! Are you sure it weighs 25lbs? I weighed a regular size battery and it was like 14lbs. I like my Cheapo $27 5lb battery that weighs under 4lbs:biggrin: ..... not sure why they call it a 5lb. Its lasted strong for 6months now, and I never use my battery tender.

My boat is way easier to land roles now.... I like all that stupid weight reduction Shiet I did.:haha: :haha:

If i was to ride in surf, i would be modding my ski to withstand salt water and huge crash landings but, unfoutunately i ride flat water and find it hard to get good height off of my own wake. it is fustrating. building hp costs $$$ so if i could loose some weight off my ski by doing some mods i'll do it. its winter what else do i got to do, i don't see myself installing a battery that weighs 25 lbs, thats just crazy talk even if it lasts for 5-6 years without even a charge. i want my ski to be lighter than the stock SN configuration, reinforced, and make more power. Even if i can shave off 20- 25 lbs without spending any money to do it makes it a good winter mod for me. I wish i didn't weigh in at 190 lbs but thats what i get for having huge pipes :haha: :banghead:

Anyone have some dry weight # of their complete skis ready for water.

I have a couple of jetworks that are 6 years old, and couple more in the two -three year range. In fact, that's all I'll sell anymore. I have a buddy that despite being able to get dealer cost on the JW from me, still runs the Odyssey, and still replaces them every year....kinda hard headed. They also will fit the Kawi 750, as inquired in a previous post.

I had a yuasa that was used by the VA Hospital in medical equipment, they have to change them out for routine maintenence, so I have no idea how old it was when a buddy drug it out of their dumpster. Anyway, he used it for two years, traded the ski into a local dealer, I ended up buying it about six months later, rode it for a year, sold it to a guy that owned it three years prior, he had it two years. My buddy was looking for a ski, so we called him and ended up buying it back, and my buddy rode it for a couple of years, bought a new battery just because, put this old yuasa in another ski that he sold, and I know the thing lasted another year anyway. Lost track of the battery after that. They sure don't make'm like they used to..LOL!

wow thats a battery!,i will buy a lightweight battery come spring and keep my acid battery as backup, i have put the trickle charge on it a couple times this winter to keep it up so it should be fine as a backup for me and a second for my buddy running total loss. why doesn't someone make us a lithum ion battery with a special chager to run in our skis, they make long lasting light weight power.

Just wanted to add that my Odyssey is 1 year old and i put it in my ski after taking care of it this winter(charging once in awhile to keep full charge/stored inside) just barely turned over on a full charge! Its focked and i cant believe it. I took great care of it and was going to use it with my TL this year. I still have my 6 yeat old Lynn Vick Power source thats still kicking ass.
Anyways, I'm on the anti-Odyssey band wagon now. What a POS, and I'm not gonna mess with any warranty bs, thats for sure..

you should run a oddysey batteries with a 6 amp charge like said before this is straight from them . i had brought back six pc 545 and two 626 and they were able to get some of them back by jumping them with another battery . to get the charger to aknowledge the battery . but still 4 were bad after one year or less of use . jetworks are a better battery but have terrible terminal connections. so i have switched back to jetworks .
