Well, So I throw my battery on charge yesterday to let keep it boosted and leave it on for a few hours. For whatever reason my charger decided not to go to trickle charge. So my battery was smoking as well as over heated tot he point the case cracked letting the gel inside ooze out. Yay!

I'll be needing a new battery for Daytona. Looking for sealed. Also, My last battery weighed in at a whopping 45lbs. Now, I'm not one to talk ******** over weight, but if I can shave 20lbs alone off battery, now thats my kinda weight savings.

So I'm open to suggestions. Pref = sealed and not heavy as ********. Doesnt have to be one of thos elittle total loss batteries or whatever, just something normal weighted

I've read too many threads about batteries, prefrences, and such to remember more then "I'm confused" from thsoe threads. So leave feed back on this battery if you have some

I use odyssey pc625 on all my 701's, 4 wheelers and an ultralite. They work well imo.

They are good, thats about what I get for one, don't be afraid to throw some amps at the odyssey to charge it ,wimpy chargers wont put a good charge on them, also they do not like being discharged for any length of time.

Get a Jetworks they are better made than the Odysseys with a different plate structure that doesnt break like the Odysseys.
they are pricey around $90 but I have one in each of my ski's and they crank a long time if you need to .
Most of our crew uses them and the weather and storage is harsh in New England .

I had an Odyssey and it only lasted a year .Odyssey is the most popular of course but so isnt Sea Doo :haha:

Check with the site sponsor, Battery Store to see what is covered.

I have been happily running an Odyssey, knock on wood, which was purchased the fall of '04 on eBay. I went riding this summer with AllStock and the Yuasa in my new '05 did not have enough juice to start the ski, so I pulled the Odyssey from the blaster and had a nice day of riding. I have since topped off the Yuasa and keep it charged when not in use. I have had to charge the Odyssey once, and that was due to me working on the ski and doing the start-up off and on, w/o running the engine to charge the ski. (In other words, no trickle or charging on the Odyssey in off season).

That said, I would run a Jetworks or Odyssey battery.

Matt_E had a run of bad luck with Odyssey, but it was resolved with the battery advertiser on the site:

Jesse-Sherry(my neighbor) bought 4 new PC625 batteries last fall-this spring-3 of them would not take a charge. I have had 2 of them-1 was great and 1 was garbage from the get go. For me-I will not buy another 1-if I can't buy a jet works-I will not buy 1-I'll keep charging the P.O.S. I have till I got 90.00 to blow on the jetworks battery.

I'm a firm believer in regular acid filled batteries. I already had a bad experiences witht these seales batteries breaking internally and leaving me dead in the water (in the surf!) . Regular yuasa acid batteries for me!! and their only $50

I would not just "throw some amps" at a AGM battery. You will cook it and it will be a paper weight. If you are going to run an AGM or gel battery you really need to get one of the new style chargers that has a specific setting for AGM to properly charge it if you are running total loss and manually charging it all the time. I have been running the Deka in my boat for 3+ years now and no problems. I have heard some bad press about the Odyssey product, just ask Matt E. what he went through trying to get warranty replacements. Call RD at Youngs Performance with the number in my sig line. Tell him I sent ya and he can get you a Deka AGM style battery and a Deka charger also if you need one.

Yuasa sealed has lasted me over 4 years and I am on my second odyssey battery in the superjet. Why the first one went dead is beyond me, but I got a replacement with no hassle from batteries4everything.com

I wouldn't buy odyssey again just from that experience, but I will run jetworks or a yuasa sealed next time!!!!!!
