Well.....although it was a short riding day Sunday, I had an absolute blast. My REV was running poorly, and I had written the day off for the most part..
Local rider offered me his Superjet..I havent ridden one of these things for more than 2 minutes for about 2 years...
Spent 07 on an Fx-1 and 08 on a REV..both limited surf setups
Robs ski is an 03 I think with a poorly tuned B limited and prop only...No holds, just lifters
Impression:
It took awhile to get used to the SJ handling again and the lifters definatly took a bit adaptation as well..but after about 20 minutes I caught the groove and was able to hit some faces and pop some nice reentry's despite the basic setup
It really forced the rider to use technique where ordinarily you could just use power to navigate a situation
I recommend anyone who rides a mod ski to hop on a stocker and put some time on it...You will definatly gain a new appreciation!
and as for the ski..
I will definatly be owning another Superjet at some point...I love the smallness of the fx-1, the REV is a stellar platform with a bottom similar to the 08 sj..but the original superjet is very unique and nothing handles the same
