ARGH ! The big bore died today !

went to the lake yesterday rode all day with both skis , went again today ,right out of the dock I had no power ? I figured I Possibly fouled a plug and it might come back online ... wrong ! I beached it 4 times looking for the obvious , tested each cyl , it would run on either cyl but only with one wire , I decided had a dead coil since the wires were solid copper . went back home after my daughter got tired rippin the red beast for about 1/2 the day ''we shared '' . got my tools out ready to pull the coil and noticed the unobvious in the pic below . you can see I have the plug wires tied to the b-pipe , that way nothing bangs and viborates around ,I thought I had all my bases covered '' I hate breakdowns '' well look at the b-pipe screw , S$#@ ... it disapeared right into the plug wire grounding it out , Too bad I couldn't find it on the beach with that bright sunshine off of the water ! anyways Its fixed with Fusion tape and electrical tape and were rippin tommorow too /see ya on the lake !

Get some of those hard to find NGK (or is it MSD?-I'll go look) plug keepers. They work great. Without them I would always pop plugs in waves. Once in Niagara!!

I swear next time I need some I'm buyin like 100 pair and puttin them in here for everyone! I want to just click and buy dangit!

MSD :trink26: They are expensive, and they are hard to find. Randy at Watcon hooked me up with a couple pairs. Give him a shout...

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
I have never used those.... is the sole purpose just from keeping the plug cap from popping off the top of the plug? I have never had this happen... does it happen if you plug caps are getting old or something?

I don't know I don't get it. It happens to me in harsh riding conditions with new or old plugs and new or old boots.

I have no choice but to use these things. They work great but tend to get brittle and break.

I would love to see little billet ones!!

Hey Frank! You need to keep that beast going for cleveland:beerchug:. going right?

I haven't caught up with ya in a while how's that thing running (other than shorted wire). Did you ever change the impeller?

On a side note I used to lose plug caps quite frequently. Not sure why, but haven't lost one in a while.
