just so I can comprehened the current situation, will somebody please fill me in on the following.
1) did javier ever figure out the overheat issue? I guess cooling was not the issue, is it carbs? Ignition?
2) I was leaning toward his side in all this till I found out he was PMing about other probs that may hav e voided his warranty. Not to attack him but if he needed to be dishonest why is nobody on his case. why should SBT even talk to him if he is trying to rip them off? Not saying he did, just don't understand why nobody has an issue with him. If I cheated you in a busine3ss deal, are you to blame.
SBT has a no fault warranty. It shouldn't have mattered. The cylidner with the surface rust (that Javier cleaned up with WD40) was NOT the one that failed. The poor kid was just trying to get help and SBT used it against him.
I have sorta followed Javier's problems for almost a year because I had a SL900 and he is one of the only other people that post about a SL900. He got a cursed Polaris :-(
The SBT business plan looks like this: Sell a $450 motor for $900, if 1 in 3 fail you still net $900. I don't really see how they fail that often. Maybe they don't? Maybe we just hear about the bad ones? I dunno. Plus it's got to be tough, how many customers have a motor blow because of a carb. problem or oil pump failure only to install the same old parts on the new motor and blow it up immediately as well?
I run a small business and we do 90% of our business on a forum. We don't own the forum and occasionally I F&^%$ up and somebody gets mad. It seems like they post about it before they even contact me. But the solution is usually: I fix it the best I can, apologize publically for my F&^%$ up and life goes on. Maybe we lose business, maybe we gain it becuase people see I am honest about it?
Is Brian the owner, or just some a$$clown that works there?
