were not getting 15's in daytona.....
it owuld have to be a HUGE noreaster and the wind would be unbearable.......
daytona needs 2-3' as that is sizable for joes to pros
any bigger than that I will get my entertainment from watching the lake newbs get past the first break...thats always the best part!

dude were you there? no. have you been? no. pretty much every one there...everyone. didnt not want to ride... i was having a frekin panic attack but i had to ride.... it was GNARLY. phuckin gomez came in on the dead sled....its not a joke. the power of mother nature is unforgiving, you obviously dont have respect for it. you will get in a bad postion very fast and the consiquences are brutal. i gaurtntee you would not have rode.
and didnt you just have a child? you'd risk you life with the odds that you would die just to say you did it. i promise you if you EVER got to the spot you would think about alot of things and not go. be smart not a badass.

but more people have been killed surfing than FMX.... (even in the last 5 years)
I think everyone needs to relax and walk away from the keyboard for a few minutes.
For the record, there is no one more knowledgeable about surf or waves on this board than Andrew.
I almost drowned at the Nellscott Classic when I blew a flip during a demo we did at a tow surf event there. Darin Anderson literally saved me after I took three waves on the head, I was done. The only reason I was pushing at all is because Darin and I were watching each other very closely. I think they called surf for that event at 25-30 feet. And where were was probably a pretty solid and dumping 20ft on set. There is no way to explain the kind of power waves like that have. Blowsion Surf Slam was pretty big, but not nearly as powerful as Nellscott.
I have known MadMatt for a while, and I like him. And I think to some extent, at this point he is justing with you guys to get a reaction. If he is 100% serious, then it is only because he has just not been there. And there is no way to explain that kind of power to someone who has not been there.

Are you from PA? Then you have ridden about as much ocean surf as me if so.....maybe more....maybe less. And I have never heard of 13 foot chop?
And if you take my position on the wave via Microsoft paint to seriously then you need to toke way more than me. But it was slightly inspired from a pic of TC in Tupaloo in a magazine I have here.

i tend to respect every aspect of riding. i know i couldnt go to a lake and ride their waves comfortably nor could i go to the west coast and ride 20 footers comfortably. but i can go out of va beach and ride 10-15 footer very comfortably! personally i wouldnt put myself in any of those situations in the pics above, with having two young daughters. and if i did i would want a good 30 min lecture on what to look for and what not to do for sure.
u west coaster are just sick in the head to be able to ride those beast!!!!!!!!

I still don't understand anything he wrote. I never argued anything yet except whether or not I would ride anything anyone rides. I agree with all the dangers....duh.

dude are you serious............Lancaster CA...... i live from 1.5 to 4 hours away from the whole coast....... and have spent most of my life at the beach.
ok here 13ft wind chop in a lake is not 13ft energy from the ocean.

If I was joking about which Lancaster you were form it would not be very funny.....so no...I really didn't know.
Again....the energy thing has been beat to death in here...I have ridden it and understand it as best I can and I would ride anything you guys ride out there if everyone was out rippin. No question.
