The idle screw is broken. $$$$. It's a flat head screw, and half the head is broken off. It might move with some plyers........ probably not. Sort of afread to mess with it.

The contacts in the stop/laynard button were green. All clean now. I hope that was the problem.

The attached picture is the culpret. The cover for the button is torn, so water can get in pretty easily. I'm not so sure I can replace that part with a new one (usually you have the buy the whole switch, lame.)

The ski went in the water yesterday. As you can see, it's turf slax.

Unfortunatly, I didn't really get to ride it. I have a few bugs to work out. Hopefully I can be on it sunday morning.

Today, I completed installing the engine, setting up the exhaust/water box, installed fuel tank, battery box + battery, installed e-box, pulled throttle from the XI SS and installed, Tom (the super nice guy he is) grinded my airbox lid for me so that's set up.
Your water hoses aren't installed correctly. The hose off the cylinder head should go the head pipe (front) and then the rear head pipe connection should go to the stinger.

The ski runs great. I had some issues I worked out today and it's a cool ski.

I have a problem... the ski has way more power than the drive line can handle. The cavitation I had was insane. I'm not sure what is in it but the power isn't getting to the water. I'm going to have to pull the pump and see what is in there.

Can anyone tell me which of my props to use? I have several skis with at least 2 props. The only one I know for sure is a Skat Trak 9/17. What is the ideal prop for my set up? What are good alternitive pitches? I'm going to pull my props asap and can provide a list after I get them out.

The 9/17 should work, I bet your sucking air from behind the pump. The seal must be good so air can't get to the prop.

I'm not sure what that means. I'm not very familiar with the drivelines yet. I don't know anything about pump seals.

The ski would wind up to it's max RPM in the blink of an eye. It felt like if I was in a car I'd just be spinning tires. It could have a stock prop. Would the stock prop be able to handle the 750 engine with the Westcoast pipe?

The ski got going, and had power, but I could never hold the throttle wide open for the bottom end. The very top end did the same thing.

pull the pump, when you reinstall it silicone the shoe to the hull.

this is very important. if the 650 pump isnt 100% sealed in the intake cavity, itll cavitate like mad. the most difficult part is directly above the drive shaft, where its hard to get your finger, along with the rest of your hand, to smooth the bead out.

you dont necessarily have to pull the pump to check it though. just give it a visual. if you see a gap, pull the intake grate and fill it with 100% plumbers clear silicone. eventually, youll want to pull it and give it a full, contiguous bead. until then, a patch will go a long way.

I tossed on the black vynil seat I had. I replaced the old worn out 360 bilge with a new rule 500.

I moved my bilge switch to the place where the fuel selector is mounted. I haven't finished it yet but you can get the idea from this bracket. (That is the stock mount for the fuel selector with a plate cut and bolted to it).

We also made a custom conversion plate so my 650 manifold for my 44mm Mikuni would fit onto my 750. There's a more complete post at this link ---> http://x-h2o.com/showthread.php?p=409250#post409250

Ok, so here's the updates I have been slacking on posting.

We finished the conversion plate for the carb. We got the 44mm Mikuni bolted up and Tom and Marz helped me tune the carb.

I THINK I am running the following specs... but I may be wrong... I forget where we wrote the stuff down.

Main: 150
Piolet: 117.5
Spring: gold
Needle: 2.0
Screws: 1 is one turn and the other is a turn and a half, forgot which

Marz tossed in fresh gaskets for me! yay, thanks Marz

Oh, and Tom gave me a throttle wheel so the cable could pull correctly. It looks like crap, but it was free, and I'm appriciative.

The cable rubs the manifold slightly. I will have to make a better mounting bracket (because I stole that one from my SX and it doesn't work right) or I might go back to the 40's or buy a 750 manifold and a single 46 in the near future.

The ski got turf before Daytona. Thanks again to Tom for all of his help. I did 99% of the work but Tom pointed me in the right directions as usual.

That is 25mm padding with black cut diamond hydro turf on top.

After riding it in Daytona and being as high as 10-15 feet off the water, I can say... the extra money for the 25mm padding was worth every penny. If you are turfing, spend the $$ and get the padding.

The turf was cut with paper templates and sanded with a sanding wheel on the compressor. The padding is self stick and the turf is down with contact cement. Hopefully it will last a very very long time. The project took 4-6 hours.

Daytona was the 1st surf testing of the X2. The X2 had only been in surf one time prior and it ingested water with the stock 40's with stock airboxes.

Daytona was the 1st true surf test of the X2, and let me tell you, water ingestion SUCKS BALLS!!!!

I ingested water 5 times while at Daytona. One time... it ingested water *in the air* while jumping. Each of those 5 times resulted in anywhere from 1-3 hours of trying to get the ski dryed out and started again. What sucked the most is it kept me distracted from the events. I kept at it and finally came to a solution.

I used a bunch of silicone and goop to try to reduce the water in the hull, but the crappy hood seals on the X2 just let water in anyway.

The 1st picture is my attempt to use a milk jug to block the water out from the carb. It didn't work.

The second picture is Pete Jacob's flow restricter line from the 840 after the crank rod bent. ThANKS PETE!!! My pipe holds A LOT of water and I thought the combination of the water in the pipe and my laynard was a factor in the water ingestion problem. I don't think it provided a solution... but it did improve the bottom end.

The 3rd picture was the fix to the problem, and still on the ski I might add. It is a 2-liter sprite bottle. I slit one side open about 3 inches wide and the full height of the flame arrestor. I held it on with zip ties, and used a propane torch provided by guess who... Tom... to shape the bottle arround the flame arrestor.

About 1pm on sunday, the X2 hit the water. I slashed the hell out of some waves and jumped a couple 6-8 footers 10-15' off the water. It was great. The X2 was rolled dozens of times after the sprite bottle was put on and I didn't get a drop of water in the engine.

It was great. I'm glad I was persitant and found a fit. The X2 is a blast. I didn't have a single problem the entire weekend except water ingestion.

PS. the pipe holds a LOT of water, and I believe wenching the nose onto the beach carts was a contributing factor to the water ingestion. I now turn my ski on the left side and rev it up to make sure there's not an excessive amount if water in the pipe before putting it on the kart.

Thankyou to the dozen or so people that helped get the ski started and provided suggestions for a solution.

Oh, I almost forgot. Before Daytona, I pruchased a sexie pair of Odi grips from Tom and polished my bars. My friend Ryan who I ride quads with gave me a chin pad, and #.0 gave me the renthal cover for the pad.

Thanks guys.

EDIT: forgot to upload the pic

Sexie picture of my ski at Daytona. I have something to show thanks to Felix5oh and H20rocket.

I'm hoping someone out there has some pictures of me riding it.
