Ok, im about to go out to the lake and i cant find my ratio rite thing. How much oil do i need for 3 gallons of gas?

If your running that bpipe and high comp head it wouldnt hurt to do 40:1. I ran 45:1 on my 650 and stock 701 last summer and as per previous owner recs, Im using 40:1 on a ski set up similarily to yours.

I usually do 16 ounces per 5 gallons, so you can do the math :smile: (for 40:1)

For 50:1 its a very very fat 12 ounce (12.8 to be exact)

I just cheap azz measuring cups and go 2 1/2 ounces per gallon. If the number on the pump is crazy I just guess.

I use a baby bottle. Seals up nice and tight and has the oz right on the side! It cost me 98 cents.

I paid the whopping $3(OMG!) for a ratio rite cup so i dont have to ******** with math.

Some people have this thing against ratio rite cups like they are too good to use one...I just never get it. They always say "why not just do the math" because if I want 5 gallons, 5 gallons, and 2 gallons in my tansk i dont gotta map it out. Just pour to 50:1 everytime.

I use the level indicator on the side of the oil bottle...
It too, is in ounces. What do ya know...

I couldn't agree more. I felt the same way and decided that was the safest choice when measuring ratios.

I agree with using a Ratio Rite or similar tool, but sometimes can never find that little bitch when I need it. If I can't find it I use this tool and a measuring cup or something....

I use an ounce measurer made for oil.

Well I measure in metric, so it won't be much help, but this way we never need any measuring cups.

1 Gallon = 3.8 litres.

Our 50:1 ratio is like this.

multiply the number of litres x 2 & Add a 0 to the end of it. Thats how many mililitres of oil you need.

8 Litres = 8 x 2 & Add a 0 = 160mls

I just pour our 160 or close to, from the quart of oil that has ML indicators on the side of it.

It sounds stupid but never takes any time thinking (unless you're an idiot) or any additional measuring cups.

My only problem with the ratio rite is that it leaked oil all over the trunk of my car. The baby bottle hasn't let me down yet. Oh yeah, and I'm a nerdy math teacher, so it's kinda fun for me. :woot::woot:

40:1 is as easy as using an old pint oil container. 16oz on 5 gallons = 40:1. I bought a case of pints in my favorite oil once and now if I need pre-measured oil I just refill them. That way I don't have to hassle with measuring or using the ratio rite cup if I am away from home or just lazy. I always carry a few when on a long trip just in case I need some extra for myself or a buddy.

Thanks Guys, i got it and had an awesome day out at the lake and about killed myself once. I was rding on the hood and somehow my foot got wedged between the inside of the tray and the throttle. Well my foot pinned the throttle while i was on the hood. So now im going WOT across the lake on the hood and cant rreally get my foot out because of the position its in and i think im ********ed:bigeyes: :bigeyes: . Well i finally decied to just fall backwards into the tray and they into the water. It worked as i skipped 20 yards across the water on my back.:biggthumpup: I did learn a nose stabs though so it was successful day at the lake!:Banane01: :woot:

Kurt, That plate i cut(JD i think) was so funn. I could slide the tail of the ski around so easy but it sure doesnt like going fast.
