Nice work! To give you some ideas. Here is my '08 called "Mega Deck" It has a dropped pipe, 2" of foam pad on the tray and if you look closely at the primer shots the sides are half the normal width. They are covered with one layer on 1" foam so that it looks stock but is plush on your shin and ankle area. Before this build became declassified it was referred to as operation "pillow top". This ski gives phenomenal "leverage" to rail the ski. It also has a pre '08 steering cable. To utilize all the throw I had to clearance the nozzle and cut about 8mm off the end of the hemi joint as it is to long stock and will "stop out" before you get the full throw. Also heat melted another insert into the steering nozzle closer in on the arm. Anyone who says an '08 won't slash should try these mods.

This would be a mandatory project for anyone that goes back to a SJ from an aftermarket hull. You get spoiled by having the extra wide tray and when you go back it feels cramped from side to side. StandupEd should have a sticky made of his mods. That looks perfect. Nice work.

Is anyone marketing a recessed front foothold for an SJ? That's another mod that has pushed hull/tray design forward.

i'm using a pancake pete front hold that i will be putting a lil more overhang onto.....

Hahahaha... thanks. I have seen that post many many times but I do not like the stock hood shape and thats alot of work just to pop out oem SJ hulls....Now if it was a XFS mold, I would be all over it!

Thats why you cut 8 mm off the end. This only for '08. It's called a "hind" joint. I think Manfish is putting a pre '08 nozzle and cable end on.

Nope. I am running a x metal trim, 08 reduction nozzle, 08 steering nozzle and the TS INNOVATIONS quik steer kit. Works great, more throw than 07 and older cable.

beautiful work - what was your layup like on the sides (top/tray sides)? looks really thick! any core?
Thank you. 6 layers 29oz nytex, with 2 layers of real heavy duty carbon. Used a wood roller to squeeze all xcess out and make this $hit bombproof! So 2 layers nytex, 1 layer carbon, 2 layers nytex, 1 layer carbon, 2 layers nytex. Im going to bolt my foothold plate to this part of the ski so it needs to be super strong.
