yummy! thanks for sharing!

No seriously like I said I have to get this same thing done... how did you get it ALL covered? My insurance would only cover like 80% and if I bumped up to a better package I think it was like 85 or 90%.... that leaves me with a pretty good chunk of change... I have broken my nose many time because of sports mostly, and really look forward to seeing the benefits... the doc said my deviated septum was pretty bad...

well

i work for the city and have the cheapest avail plan its an health net hmo they take out 60 month and my office co pays are 10$ this is neccesary sergery from and ent doc. specialist not plastic surgery the broken nose might go under plastic, and they dont cover that.
since you caused the deviated septum by injury and not birth defect then they will no cover it 100% but i dont know its best to call your provider.
just my .02 cents.

i have never discused prices nor paid anything besides office visit copay 10$ x3 and my generic drugs are 10$ i am sure they would have told me it was going to cost somthing for the surgery. its about 3,500 $ i looked it up online a about the same as a used 03 roundnose maybe with a b pipe. lol.

well thanks for insurance its very important. just read the small print. that goes with most things.

Good luck with the build and the nose. I changed to the 3:1 epoxy since I pm'd you the list Eric sent me. I wanted more time to work before it hardened. I'm still waiting for my US Composites order.

ok so far

lunch break
got the right tubbie in a lil harder than i thought with placement and all no over tightning the screws.

i ran into problems when i had all the screws in strait it made the tubbie go below the hull actually stick out i was worried but then pulled the screw and then angled the larger screw part of the tubbie a lil to suck it in and now im just over flush a lil protruding but still sandable and will be ok resin and all that i used a whole can i bostik to tack them down so i know that they will be adheard and also all screws are grinder flush on the inside and they are flush set on the outside.

so thinking i am going to repaint the hull sides at least no point painting the bottom

--so what you think rattle can white or what!!! it will be nice wont even be able to see tubbie i love those installs i hate when they stick out like a sore thumb i may even but the bottom graphics kit that i had previosly removed to make a nice flow just an idea..those oems are like 50 each.

anyways off to ace hardware to hope they have stainless screws used some extra screws by the high impact/tension spots. between the large protrusion and the front to help with keeping it from going under the hull also/

done for today

well had a lil prob today but i fig. i wouldnt be perfect at it.

i laid the epoxy with white powder and setup the bondline prob used 4 oz. and then over that i laid my carbon. then the fiberglass mat. unfortunetly i was dumb and was doing this when it was cold out and the resin mix was really thick about like honey. anyways i called blowsion and they said it was to cold and so i warmed the bottles up and used my sis hairddryer and it thined out and saturated real nice. i may have used to much resin i dno i have about inch over half on both bottles all eyeball pours to. blowsion quart kit. so at least i know i have enough to do the other side the same and im hoping to do a lil better job on the other side and have some left to glass in the tubbies on the bottom they are sticking out hull bottom like a mm or so mayby wrap it to the bottom well see after that bostick dries.

-i may have to get more resin and some cloth to do the under pole area

questions!!!

i did buy that home depot can of foam to fill in the area up there is this ok?

anyways how long for the bostik to dry complety where i can sand and mess with it?

and how long does the resin and mat take to dry on one side sould i have a heater going?

you can use the HD foam for the bracket area
why didnt you lay the glass first then the carbon??
you gotta squeegee out all the excess resin so that it is stronger
and i would not do the other side till the temp is around higher 50's to 60's 70 tho is perfect

so i have the other side layed up. it was a whole lot easier spreading the resin pre warming the bottles.

also did my tubbie mod. by resin ing the outer part to seal it then i laid a glass strip over both. they will not go anywhere. bostik screws in resing fill then cloth will be sound.

here are some pics.

will do the nose tomarow prob put it like a fish thats being weighed on the docks

i am also thinking i am good as far as handlepole bracket reinforcment its enough? if not what else.

Yes do the nose. While your in there, why not? If you ever nose into the sand on a nose stab or fail re entry attempt, you gonna crush the nose.

Also can't see really how much you did on the handlepole bracket area, but did you fill in the voids that come to a point where the outter nose piece screws into? Also the areas that are circled in red in the pic bellow were cracking on my ski, so I made sure that some of the re enforcement covered those areas.

great

ya i was wondering that. so i have about 8 oz each bottle left of resin and lots of cloth also some more fiberglass tape so that should be enogh to complete what you guys are sayying.

prob foam that lil void tonight home depot canned stuff
(((will it work with glass)))???
then tomarow or tonight do the lay up and round the side areas that you circled.

so that leaves me
thur night tubbie cure-foam 8hrs.
friday lay up rest of glass
sat touch up drill holes that were glassed. pole area bilge and pisser then removed blue tape and install all parts all black new zip ties.
sunday--pending - if glass is dried ride o side. and not break anything.

let me know if i missed anything
