'02 superjet - Motor mount bolts are frozen

I'm pulling the motor out of a RN I just bought, and the engine mount bolts are frozen (corroded). I already broke the two front engine mounts because the rubber twisted until it broke

any suggestions to get the rear mounts loose? or should I just break those to get the engine out??

well I saved one of the four!

thanks for the quick responses guys - now any suggestions on how to remove the e box? the nuts came off easily, but the ebox is still FIRMLY attached to the posts

I have never had that problem with a e-box. I would just try soaking the think good with WD or something and letting it sit for a day or so.
If that doesn't work, beat the crap out of it with a hammer

that thing always gets corroded stuck. i usually ride with out the plastic dash trim piece so i just remove the 4 bolts from that side and bust it loose once it is out of the ski.

but it was cheap!

even if you saved the one, dont use it...replace all four and keep that one as an emergency spare..


if you replace 3, and use 1 old one it will weaken the other three (just like if you use a mix of good and bad batteries)....

Yup X2 Replace all four and save old one for an emergeny only. When you reassemble BE SURE and coat ALL your bolts with Anti Seize. (especially the motor mount to hull bolts). You will be glad you did the next time you have to to a teardown. The stuff holds up even in salt water

yeah I gave up on the ebox! If I NEED to get it open I guess I'd go after the 4 bracket bolts next time

Mine was like that. Soaked it in WD40, used a micro screw driver (the type for the screws for glasses) and carefully "dug out" the corrosion. Took f**** ages to do, but it worked! Then I used heat shrink tape to create a barrier to reduce risk of future corrosion (along with some grease).

Quick heat application sometimes works, vise grips on the brackets, wiggle it like idok said.

Sometimes I just give up and grind the ebox tab away, pull off mounts, then replace ebox back.

someone had luck with a pressure washer on the corroded ebox studs
