If I was to do it again I would cut out the area of the hull where the bracket mounts and glass it in flat. The square has that area at an angle, if you have a breather tube the pole will kink it much sooner than it would on the round. That angle sets the pivot point of the pole slightly...

I agree, I use a 12/15 3mm set back concord on my 650 that is warmed over with a pipe (I got it this way and have no clue what lies on the inside). The prop does slip a lot on the bottom and it might be time to re-pitch. Or, I might just try a swirl. What's a good pitch to start ?

Why would a round be stronger ? Is it fiberglass top deck ? Except for the early 97 GP I always thought that Yamaha made the first year hulls thicker and as the years went on they would try to reduce weight. Maybe not.:dunno:

Yes they are steel wheels, that's all I could find locally. If I find something better than these will go but until then I will just add more paint. I needed the wheels to get this thing going otherwise I have to use a boat ramp. I hate boat ramps.

I have the home depot one way and a 24/7 scupper on the same pipe. Doesn't leak at all.

Here's the correct procedure for winterising your ski. 1- wash ski 2- fill up fuel tank 3- send ski to me where I will take care of it for the entire winter in sunny SWFL. 4- no need for 4. #3 applies to anyone with a light hull/big motor beast. I don't charge a penny...
