Me and my friend both rent storage units and use them as our garage/work shop. Never had a problem and the owners know what we do in there. Just think of all the lawn mowers that get stored in there.

How about the same webbing that everyone uses for hood straps. 2 short straps that you could pull tight when in the ocean. Better than that stock rubber thing (I cut mine off but kept the hook for my limiting rope).

Look for a stock round nose pole. Much better than the square pole that snaps like a twig in a slight breeze.

Wrap it in turf and strap it to the top of the battery. That's what many do if they absolutely must have an extinguisher.

Anodes sound good but it's to late for me. Pulled the motor out for a small exhaust leak, since it's out I went to spin the mid-shaft and got nothing. Yep, the ware ring is pinching the prop. Anyone have one or know where is the best place to order ??

I would just add a washer and bolt the cable down. Might want to use some loctite. What's the worse that can happen ? It won't work and you will have to buy a new one ?
