Why no sacrificial anode on the pump???

Just wondering why no one (manufacturer or aftermarket) uses a sacrificial anode on the pump housing. Us saltwater guys seem to go through a pump liner every few years or so due to electrolysis and I've even seen some fresh water liners starting to bulge. I would think an anode would help???

I am still not convinced they work, I have seen cylenders that have them still corrode from salt water use:dunno:

Maybe it must remain imersed to be effective?

yeah it has to be underwater all the time to work and it has to be grounded to the battery somehow for it to work. Also the anodes are only really effective for the first couple of weeks that they're on a boat.

Anodes sound good but it's to late for me.
Pulled the motor out for a small exhaust leak, since it's out I went to spin the mid-shaft and got nothing.
Yep, the ware ring is pinching the prop.

Anyone have one or know where is the best place to order ??

that depends on the metal compostion ( magnesium, aluminum zinc etc)and the salinity of the water of course
