This top deck is strong. May not be Steve's top of the line product (looks like chop) but it is strong. I'm taking this on as a learning experience and if I get a relatively light but strong hull out of it than I will be more than happy. My next one will be a featherweight. :biggthumpup:

You don't need to remove the fuel tank although it does help. A cheap puller from an autoparts is all you need for the job. Put some strain on the flywheel and tap it with a hammer. Should pop right off.

Before you start whacking on the threads you might want to get the nut back on there. Apply some pressure on the thing with a small G-clamp and tap with a hammer. That should break the bond.

You need a vest, helmet, fire extinguisher (only for registration), ski registration. It's a good idea to have front and rear tow loops, tow rope that you can access in a hurry, hood straps, limiting rope. Your usual riding gear and you should be good to go.

Paint the hull sides black. Not a fan on the white, to me it always looks as if it was assembled from 2 different skis.
