i took that into consideration. some say front to back. others say left to right. since i dont know who to believe, i ran them sideways. that way, everyones happy.
id use contact cement. be sure to sand all mating surfaces with 30 grit paper and clean with acetone before applying.

at 12 psi popoff, your probably flooding the engine when the n&s opens too early.
i 'think' wifeys x2 is at 115L 120H and about 28ish lbs psi popoff.
which flame arrestor is on your carb?
check those wires for arcing in the dark and see if it runs okay on fresh water after being thoroughly...

i cracked it on a backlanding in shallow water. i almost sunk my ski and lost my hood from what youre thinking of. the ski landed upside down & caused the hood latch to come undone.
