    SXR Engine rebuild options

You NEED a flywheel....less weight and ton more low end. Kawi flywheels are giant heavy pigs. It almost does as much as the pipe. I am guessing it would do more than porting.

    SXR Internal fuel fill??

I made my own internal fuel fill out of the parts already on the tank...basically switched the fuel fill and the pick ups and heated up and bent the straws with a lighter...works fine, but I wish it was still on the outside...much easier than ripping my hood off all the time to fill up.

    SXR Engine rebuild options

I actually run SBT cranks for half the price...trued and welded...haven't had a problem yet. I ran one for 3 seasons and then I had to do a top end 2 years ago, because they were so cheap, i got another. So far, so good. Not sure where your going to find a used SXR cyllinder. They are tough...

Porting and bigger carbs. I remember riding Chuck's old ladies boat in Michigan. Same set up as you and rick, but with bigger carbs. RIPPED.

    Evil Lake Erie Waves

60 pound hull will be impossible to navigate in the Lake Erie chop, plus you'll get blown all over in the air. Maybe refoam this winter? and get a little more brap? Total Loss? Bigger carbs?

Super Jet 701 Teardown & repair- How far would you go?

What Frosty said....tear it down, hone, rings, all new seals and gaskets.....wayyyy cheaper than putting it back together and blowing it up. Make sure you make a GOOD inspection of that crank, the pistons and cyllinder.. :naughty:

    Evil Lake Erie Waves

Yep, the water is softer. Your ski goes 'through' the waves instead of staying on top of it. It's almost like riding in deep mud compared to hard dirt. Salt water is just much more buoyant.

Other The What is your biggest Rookie move on a build.

When I put the superjet pole and steering on my sxr, it did not flip the steering plate. When I went to ride it, I pulled out, turned left and the ski went right and smashed into the dock.

About sank my ski...won't start...next steps?

For an SXI pro, if it's not too built up, I would run an SBT crank and get a new wiseco top end, one size over and get it bored out one size over...should run like new (even a little faster). If you don't have any mods on it, I would send out the head and flywheel to be cut and lightened...very...

    Evil Lake Erie Waves

Yes, but depending on where you are, It's pretty rare...We get about 15-20 good wave days a year. The wind needs to be in the right direction.
