    crack!

yeah, Newman's (now Proformance1's) 2005 SJ cracked at the bulkhead on the bottom of the ski... within the 1st month or so of riding it. After comparing his '05 to my '01 SJ we noticed that the hull was much thinner than my '01. He reinforced the S##t out of it and it's been good since. you...

stab question - running out of air?

i had to make some pretty extreme carb spec changes but boy did it make a difference. started off with a 140 main jet, 120 pilot jet, 2.5 n/s with a 65 gram spring - very low pop off I now run a 122.5 main jet, 120 pilot jet, 2.0 n/s with a 95 gram spring. much better now.

stab question - running out of air?

there are a few things to consider: 1 - you could be running out of air. This does happen if you are under too long 2 - you could be ingesting water. I recently went back to OEM style air box and this made a huge difference. 3 - your carbs may not be jetted right. After building my...

    B-pipe Clearance

yup... very true... both my round noses are slightly different in fit. I have a piece of rubber epoxied to the gas tanks to keep the pipe from rubbing. And, I use an angle grinder to trim off a slight bit of the front part of the pipe side engine cradle to keep the chamber from rubbing...

    painting inside of ski

when i built my '98 over this past winter i had it all apart to reinforce the hull. I decided to paint it while i had it empty. I used Rust-o-leum marine topside paint. brushed on, two coats. It's holding up quite well... http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=4

Best reeds for a 701 SJ

been running OEM reeds in my '01 superjet since new, not a problem. As far as AM reeds go - been running VF II's in my other superjet for a couple of years now without any problems. Took off the intake manifold yesterday for some other work and they still look like new.

    Atlantic Jet Sports

That sucks bro! I ordered a new steering cable and a few other parts from AJS and had it in my hand within a week. I found DGY Motorsports to be quite good. Good communition, decent prices and fast shipping, for the most part. They reply back right away if something is out of stock...
