Looks like you have an oem crank that was rebuilt with hot rods rods, the reason I say this is you have Koyo bearings, Hot rods crankshafts do not come with Koyo bearings.

If you are doing epoxy with slow hardener you have plenty of time to get the bag stuck down and get everything just so before you pull a vacuum, if you are using poly or vinyl ester its a race against the clock to get it done and pulled down before it starts to set, using a plenum or vacuum...

If you are shooting with gelcoat what does it matter , gelcoat fills pinholes nicely.

Cabosil is definatly structural and it dries hard as a brick bat, you can add small amounts of cabosil in with microballoons to stiffen it up if you like, the more you add the harder it will be to sand

Start working your way around it prying a little at a time. if its already separating it probably wasn't put together that well in the first place.

No microballoons basically are mixed with epoxy to form a fairing compound , much like Bondo, but epoxy based, tinting it black will work wonders for coverage , it will make it harder to eyeball high and low spots though.

You can most certainly coat the whole bottom with Microballons -epoxy, sand down to 80 grit then shoot gelcoat on top of that, its how most all of the repair we did on SKI NAUTIQUES were done, it did not come off ever !
