Yes except that it looks like the key is made into the ring gear, if so that's the only way it could be installed is to notch the flywheel. Usually it's just an interference fit or it is staked like on a Yamaha flywheel, even staked I have had several Yamaha flywheels spin the ring gear.

The reply was more for the rest of the guys here but yes you were correct it has to be measured at the bottom of the skirt as pistons are tapered.

ART is who makes the OEM pistons for Kawasaki, they are a Japanese manufacturer, also pistons are not going to measure the same as the bore size, they will always be smaller, the difference between the bore size and what the pistons measure at is your cylinder to wall clearance, in this case...
