    Piston Clearance

OEM piston to wall clearances are set up for a lengthy break in period and tend to be on the tight side, years ago when I started working on Seadoos their piston to wall was set up at .025-.030 the engines kept having seizure issues and our shop stayed very busy rebuilding top ends, customers...

    550sx Reed Compression questions

Stock compression on a reed engine is 170, I don't think a compression increase that large can be had by just changing gaskets, the head would have had to nbeen milled as well

Who does high quality Aluminum repair?

As has already been said you can't weld up a hole like that with a tig, I used to have a lot of Seadoo exhaust manifolds repaired where bolts had broken off , my tig guy would cut the whole corner of the manifold off and rebuild it.

How to Resleeve 64x 760 cylinder

I don't have all the answers but I do share things I have found from my years of experience in repairing personal watercraft, take it or leave it up to you, cooling temps on skis run around 130-185 degrees what that temp translates into at liner I do not know, chances are no one else does either.

How to Resleeve 64x 760 cylinder

No I clearly said do not heat them up that long , I am not trying to give a metallurgy class either, I am just relaying something that I have had happen and it will happen if you heat the cylinders up for hours on end, I have never heated any that long a period and have still seen hardness...

How to Resleeve 64x 760 cylinder

I do have to add one thing a couple of threads up there was a comment about leaving the cylinder in the oven for a couple of hours. what you are doing is heat treating the liner, if you leave it in that long, now the material is hard as a brick bat, I have had my cylinder guy bitch a few times...

    Total Loss Help

Pretty much on a KV system if it has power and the coil is good and does not fire the pickups are bad, regrettably there are no replacement pickups available that I know of.

White Vinegar and Rust - Very Impressive

I mostly use it to clean motorcycle and ATV gas tanks, you fill the tank and let it sit, rinse it out and go, the acid gets recycled into a big plastic bin and used over and over until it no longer works, occasionally I filter it through a paint strainer to remove bits of rust and crud, I also...

95 Waverunner 3gp, feels like it's in limp mode

Ok one more thing before you go any farther , this is something that I have run across only on Yamahas, the spark plug boots go bad, from what I remember when you cut them open they have a resistor inside the cap that looks like a small piece of carbon, this is on the older spark plug boots...

SeaDoo 3D warning light at start up/no-start condition.

DI's are known for coils going out, may or may not be the issue, honestly without a Candoopro to hook to it so you can fire the coils and injectors manually you are poking in the dark with a dull stick. Battery has to be fully charged if it falls below 10.5 volts while cranking it will still...

SeaDoo 3D warning light at start up/no-start condition.

Also Di's have to have a working and properly functioning air compressor to work right, it adds 60 PSI to the fuel pressure and the air is injected along with the fuel, you will need to check the air pressure with a gauge, it's the small plastic line coming from the back on the right side of the...

Bendix Engages, Spins Engine 1-2 Revolutions, then Disengages and just Spins Starter ?

These are easily repairable depending on what is going on with them, I usually get a stack of them laying around and pull them apart and build a few good ones out them to sit on the shelf.

Bendix Engages, Spins Engine 1-2 Revolutions, then Disengages and just Spins Starter ?

There is a metal piece with tabs that goes in there top keep the weights separated this is what gets damaged on Seadoo 951'S and the pieces end up stuck in the stator coils
