yup, there's a seal, washer and plastic pinch piece/snap ring that keeps the cable in place. unscrew the plastic fitting and take a look. maybe that plastic piece broke.

Hell yeah! Jeff is really cool... I usually BS with him in Rochester... but I didn't go this year.
