i can already tell you after about 6 months or riding you're gonna regret spend all that time and effort into painting the ski... its just gonna get jacked up. Time and money that should have been spent elsewhere.

i just use the the correct size socket when removing/installing. installs and removes so easily.

so there was never a problem. the cable would have worked even with the bracket zac posted in the first post of this thread. the throttle cable we were testing it with was wound up and zip tied so that it could be stored/shipped and wasn't letting all of the inner cable out.

his engine is at my house... tonight i am gonna try the double cable holder bracket that i know came off a 61x engine.
The problem now seems to be that the distance from where the cable mounts to the bracket is way too short to reach the little hole the existing throttle drum...

in rough water the hooker bites the water where the solas wouldn't in the same conditions.
same for white water... in the same water conditions the hooker would still bite the water where the solas wouldn't.
I have ran a 13/16 3mm cut back and am now running a 9/15 hooker. In my honest opinion the hooker didn't get that much more bottom end, but hookup and especially white water hookup were greatly improved.
