    stroker crank anyone

I think it depends upon displaement, porting, RPM range, etc. I'm thinking a stoke stroke ported 701.

wiesco vs. pro-x vs. WSM vs. OEM

I've not lightened a piston; for recreational use where longevity is a concern (RC pistons run what, maybe 30 actual hours before replacement?) I'm more concerned with fatigue and wear on the cylinder wall.

wiesco vs. pro-x vs. WSM vs. OEM

Interesting to be sure. I'll have to ask the gent doing the boring & porting about that......:sneaky: BTW who has the best prices on Pro-X piston kits (pistons, rings, pins, clips - pin bearings not included) for third over? It's $148 for stock & first over at ParkerYamaha but they don't list...

    stroker crank anyone

That may be true, but my understanding was that a smaller crankcase volume yielded better low RPM response. Definately not a consideration for racers.

    stroker crank anyone

Wax, I think you'll find a significant power loss with that design due to windage in the cases at running speed. That's why almost everyone use full circle cranks. If you want to reduce weight then you could mill out pockets & press a thin cap into the top of the pockets as on MX bikes.

wiesco vs. pro-x vs. WSM vs. OEM

I wonder how much difference that makes on a freestyle SJ engine after a few weekends? What do you think Wax?

    rad valve versus v-force

A more interesting question for me is how does the RAD valve & V-Force compare to Carbon Tech LT reeds on a stock reed cage. For surf/freestyle use in a freestyle ported engine w/OEM 44s.:sneaky:

how fast does your freestyle ported engine go?

Paul at Magoos told me that a 33cc dome would be fine on a freestyle ported 701 for 93 octane. On a stock ski that'd be race gas territory.

Nothing when pushing the start button

There's a trick where you use a screwdriver to bypass everything & crank the starter directly. (I don't knoew specifics, you'll have to search). Try that as a first step.
