personally, id go with WCF's new top deck. it has a widened stance like an SXR but still sits right on top of an SJ hull. they looks awesome too!

ive done this mod with both a stocker and a umi turn plate. its a good, cheap and effective mod, but as you said, make sure the bars are far enough back an to not hit the cable.
