Has anyone hooked up a tachometer onto their 701 by connecting it to the white/red wire (I believe the 61X and 62T have same wire coming from the stator).
I have mine hooked up to the ignition box (even though the instructions say don't) so I'm thinking about disconnecting and using it for...

Water temp wouldn't be as near as good an indication of carb mixture as exhaust gas temp would be. It's more about avoiding hot or cold seizures with the different metals in the engine expanding at different rates.
Ace Hardware might have something brass for you if you don't hve time to order online. I have some Y-fittings that I use in plastic and one T-fitting where the T is reducing the size of the ID to the bypass. Everything else I use is brass.
I've been hovering in the high 170's now. Lowest I was last week was 176. This is right were I should be, I think, so I don't plan on any more weight loss. That's about 20 lbs since New Years in 3 months!
Wouldn't you want the engine bolted as forward as possible (assuming the coupler fingers are properly engaged) for weighting/handling benefits? Or would you rather have the engine rearwards to ensure as much spline is engaged between the drive and mid shaft?
