I heard there's something in the Stabil that's not good for seals (some kind of alcohol?)
I've also heard that the oil in premixed gas acts as a stabilizer. This year I took last year's blaster premix and filled my 4-wheeler with it, it seemed to work fine.
If your gas ever smells bad...
Yeah that's what I was thinking, it'd be like 10x more expensive. Great stuff doesn't expand much in my experience.
A place I used to work at made expanding urethane foams and one of the mad scientists there said for this type of foam to be compoletely "closed cell" it would have to have...
I could see someone who really wants one paying up to $1,200 or so if it's like new. The thing with most X-2 riders is they are CHEAP! I had a very hard time selling the last one I had and it was pretty clean and I was only asking $600. I think you could plan on $800-$900 if it's honestly mint.
IMO 50 hours for a 1st inspection is pretty reasonable for a high-output engine. We can learn some lessons from the motocross people on this subject... treat a nice engine like a stock engine and it'll go BOOM on you eventually! :smashfreakB:
Is yours a WR?
Mine is a completley stock 2005 YZ250F. It's been sitting for a awhile (over a year I think), I just got it going so now I'll change the oil.
I only rode it for 30 seconds but it feels like it has some balls! My last bike was a DRZ250 which was good for trail riding (which...
Does it drain from the tank into the motor if it's not running? My dipstick shows no oil... should I add some oil before I start it? I haven't started it yet.
Yamasaki, I think '06 is when they took the oil out of the frame.
Thumpertalk.com is great, I found a free online Yamaha manual...
How often do you change it? I read somewhere (I forget where, this is new to me) that I should change the oil every 3-4 hours. That's insane! I only trail ride. On my last bike (DRZ250) I changed the oil about once a year (and never had a problem in 5+ years).
I just picked up a 2005 YZ250F... anybody know how to change the oil? And how much to put back in and what weight to use? It has an oil reservoir in the frame.
Freakin' 4 strokes :slap:
I have a soft spot for wakeboard boats, I think they are awesome. But certainly, for the most part, kids don't care what kind of boat it is. They just like to be on the water. I see plenty of nice boats for sale in the $5000 range. That's probably what I'd do.
My Dad... he'd do the...
