You should not use silicone on or in your electrical box. As it cures the vapors that are emitted are corrosive to all those connections inside.

I didn't see the red on their site and kinda guessed that fading was an issue. I've got a couple sheets of the gray diamond turf I'll use.

Apparantly they don't make red. That is why I'm asking. I'll probably just use the gray. It matches most everything.

Okay, If I fill the hole where the gas cap was and then epoxy+ screw and glass the plastic cover on and then foam between the hull and cover I should be okay right? Maybe a couple layers of cloth on top for good measure? I gotta go now, I'll have more questions later I'm sure. Maybe waxhead...

I'm not worried about having to remove the foam. Thats what they make sanders and grinders and sand blasters for. I will be turfing the rails and the nose as the rubber pieces were crap already. SFL, Was the turf screwed down due to it peeling back or what?

The hand holds will be a no go. For the nose I am kinda leaning to what icerocket did plus pouring some foam behind it for reinforcment after the epoxy cures. SFL can I get a pic of your turfed nose?
