working with scale models takes a lot of expertise and in the end gives you only an approximation of how the hull will behave at full scale. For something as small as a PWC you might as well just do full scale testing.
I think you need to dig out all the foam so that you can repair the 'outside' holes from the inside. In that area it might be worthwhile to get /make some solid panels to glue in, depending on how much room you end up having to work with. In any case that will be the hardest part for sure...
Yes with polyester you can adjust the hardener to control how fast it cures.
One of a few features that make polyester easier to work with. Epoxy needs to be mixed per directions and also don't try to work with it colder than the label says.
You could probably do with one quart. I'd get two quarts just in case.
Personally I stick with the quart cans just so I never have too much old stuff sitting around. (Especially the hardener you don't want hanging around for like years)
You can use the home depot/auto store woven glass cloth...
I'd rather see a sport class forum than splinter it up x2, blaster, etc.
In any case I think it a good thing for this site to encourage the sport class and not just look like all stand ups.
how about this?

what dennis kirk has there is the kiddie pwc model. I Don't know why it says jetlyne but its got kiddies part number. You can sometimes find those at walmart.
The sole function of the device is to prevent tickets. All thats needed to "work" is the proper label and the test butting needs to...
none of those are technically legal. Strictly you need a B-1 coast guard rating
(which is basically a size spec, not related to the "ABC" type)
Probably better than nothing in terms of getting ticketed though.
EPA or not I can't see them producing that engine for only that one low-volume ski for very much longer.
Everybody even thinking about buying new please do - so there will be more used ones around for us poor guys in years to come.
All woven cloth (not biax) would have been better. Cloth gets you more fiber loading plus the fibers all run in the direction you want.
Enough better I don't know.
Also it would be good to get some metal inserts in there at the mount holes.
I've got about a minutes worth of people jumping smitty's wake.
Its really not that great -too far out - but if anyone wants it for a compilation
you are welcome to it.
the boaters were mostly a group of off-shore racers. I figured they weren't going to get bent out of shape over noise and such so better to just make room than get in a fight about it.
Are you sure an empty account will completely protect you from that sort of thing? I can picture paypal charging the account anyway, then you have a neg balance plus overdraw penalties.
