    SXR1500 freestyle build

I do know the plates extend farther out than the mounts, not sure about full length, I remember a thread where a guy robbed a ZXI 1100 of it's engine and installed a 750 in it's place, he had to move the plates on that one , but no farther than you are off there should be aluminum there. I got...

    760 OEM flywheel charging issues

I noticed on the 701 62T flywheel I replaced the ring gear on that they staked the flywheel after installing the ring gear, I had to grind down the staked areas to remove it, on the 760 flywheel I got the replacement ring gear off of it was not staked, when I put the ring gear back on I...

    SXR1500 freestyle build

Write a book no way I will just wait till the movie comes out. I do have a question though , can you redrill the holes where the bedplate mounts to the bottom of the engine or is there room to do that , When I put that 720 Seadoo engine in my X2 I welded the engine mounting holes up on the...

    SXR1500 freestyle build

Personally I wouldn't drill holes unless you plan on welding the bedplate holes up and then redilling the holes, I would find a thicker washer to put on the crankshaft and one on the driveshaft and think about putting a seadoo driveshaft snubber inside the impeller, that might give you just...

    Don’t buy cheap trailer parts

I have towed stuff with a hitch hauler but it is a hitch hauler I made myself and is very thick wall tubing plus I know the welds are not going to break and it was always with a class three hitch on a full size truck ,tongue weight is also a key factor here, I don't tow anything with a lot...

    Help starting

Sorry I wasn't more clear on jumping the solenoid but I usually use a flat head screwdriver for this , it won't shock you but if you use a paper clip and hold it across the terminals on the solenoid it will get very hot because it is not big enough to handle that kind of amperage.

    Help starting

it would work for about a second but he would let go of it pretty quickly. One other thing , when you disconnect the switch you can plug the stop switch wires into the red-brown connecter, press the stop button and if its switch related it will start, the lanyard switch is a two way switch it...

    Help starting

the problem is most likely in your lanyard switch then , be very careful when taking it apart there are some really small contacts and springs it there that are easily lost if you are not careful. It's always preferable to take the switch off the ski and work on it on a table or workbench so you...

    Help starting

You want the short version if so here goes, if the start stop switch has connectors on it then disconnect the two connectors, now get a paper clip and jump the red and brown wires together if it starts then you have start stop switch issues, if it doesn't then you open up the electrical box and...

When you see it and you already know

Yellow wires are charging system, totally separate coil that has nothing to do with the ignition, it charges the battery, thats it. Check the other two wires while cranking, should be a black and a black red , test them unhooked from the electrical box , if it has 35VAC on those two wires and...

    300/440/550 650sx no spark????

The next check I would make is AC voltage between the black-red and black ground wires , you are looking for 35VAC.

When you see it and you already know

Yeah a quick look at a parts microfiche saves a lot of headaches down the road , I have tons of those small parts from ski part outs so no need to order anything here, but hey guys like this keep me plenty busy.

When you see it and you already know

Hell no but I do to replace the stator as it fried the black ground wire all the way to the stator taking the rest of the wires with it, the customer brought me a spa re engine and I pulled the stator out of it , actually the engine never leaves the ski , I turn it so the flywheel housing is...

Super Jet Riding after Hip replacement

I am quite sure years of abuse lifting stuff that was way to heavy, racing motorcycles with very little suspension .riding standups, lifting engines out of skis by hand and just generally doing everything they tell me that I am supposed to be doing now messed up my hip. Mine is caused by...

When you see it and you already know

A fairly clean 650SX came in last week for repair, he said it was smoking by the electrical box, this particular customer I had just rebuilt two starter solenoids for a few months back. The first ski he pinched the wires inside the electrical box, I diagnosed that one over the phone and I was...

    650sx rebuild and restoration.

I changed the name of the thread to better reflect what I am doing here, not a lot of progress but I finished up an Aluminum stand to put it on, flipped it over sanded the run out (it was very minor ) cleaned the engine bay and started reassembly, Waterbox is back in, motor mounts installed pump...
