Unconventional DIY ignition setup on 787

99% of the time when I get Seadoos in that customers have worked and used cheap Amazon-Ebay parts on those parts are defective. the same goes with ATV's, I worked on a Yamaha 400 a few years back that had electrical issues , would not start and the Neutral light wouldn't come on, he had...

Anything is possible but when you stoke an engine it throws all the port timings off , just as putting the CR500 pistons does, as you already have a 5mm spacer plate on the engine it's really hard to say where the port timing would be at, you would probably need to ditch the CR 500 pistons ...

I am going to give you a word of advice , I have been at this for a while now ,I have seen a lot of people come and go in this sport , the guys chasing ultimate performance are the first ones to go because their goals are not realistic and if they do obtain it they can't hold on to it for long ...

Defiantly a 62t or 64x cylinder, you can tell that by the exhaust bosses on it, 61x cylinders won't go that big anyway

It does appear material was added there which would make sense as the transfer port area gets really small with that big of a bore.

So stock stroke and the plate makes up for different pin placement in the piston ?

Most of those head gaskets are special order but they can make one for any size bore fairly quickly. 119 mm is stock cylinder specs so the cylinder has not been cut.

    9 port 81mm cylinder

Look like they are using that space for a transfer port.

It's a lot nicer working on this inside in the air conditioning. I added some expanded PVC, painted steel perf and an aluminum C channel. Two of those injectors , the two that are unplugged are stuck ATM, I am going to work on freeing them up today and see if we can get this thing poppin.

Back in 91 when I started at the Seadoo dealer the 587's were seizing top ends left and right, these guys were not even boring cylinders, they were sending them back to Seadoo and having new liners put it with new std size pistons , so the clearance always stated the same, somewhere between...

I have a bunch of Yamaha fuel injectors that need cleaning, I could send them off but cleaning 16 injectors at $20-25 a pop plus shipping both ways doesn't sound like my idea of fun so I wanted to make an injector cleaner , it is now at proof of concept stage. I had some used fuel pumps...

Measure the total height of the cylinder, from top of spacer plate to head gasket surface . No one here really knows what you have there , some measurements will give clues though.

650's are damned hard to kill at least in stock form , I had an engine in my ski I built from a bunch parts laying around the shop, 650 crank in small pin 750 cases, modded stock pipe TR racing head , a 44 carb and adaptor on a stock 750 intake with some voodo magic to make it all work...

Reeds and compression are two different things, either it has compression or it doesn't, but yeah if it were mine I might take a look inside to see how everything looks.

Yes I usually just pop them off with a screwdriver but then I have done hundreds of them over the years.
