    Take a regular pair of slip joint pliers and pull the plastic limiter cap off, underneath that plastic cap is an adjuster that you turn with a straight blade screwdriver .

    Yep That was my thinking as well, I would be way more worried about the crankshaft seals , on skis that old I just replace them , you can also red loctite the bearings when you do it. If you are considering mods this thread is an excellent read and touches on a few of the things I already...

    I wouldn't worry about the pin in the crankshaft , that issue is easily fixed by coating the bearings with a thin film of red locktite after that they will not move . Ryde it the rest of the season and rebuild it this winter, I wouldn't bother Pressure testing at this point, pull it completely...

    Yep if you measure the plate it is 1/2 of the stroke added so 3mm plate = 6mm stroke

    Actually it's not a press fit it's an interference fit , the two are not the same but most people think they are, the difference is in the clearance between the two parts , on a press fit the two parts are pressed together with a hydraulic press , a crankshaft pin is an example of a press fit...

    Check to see if you sucked something up into the jet pump , but yes it could have stripped the midshaft also

    Yes and twelve 1/4" welds is 3 inches or twenty four 1/8" welds, I did neither , if you have a point, if make it, if not stop pulling stuff out of thin air.

    On the few I have seen when the ring gear slipped on the flywheel usually there was now metal missing on the flywheel it was so loose that sleeve retainer would not have held it on , who said anything about three inches of weld , i may have run three or four small beads evenly spaced probably...

    Thats what I did on the last one, tig would be better but no one is pulling the flywheel cover off to look at it.
