I dont belive it has a setback pump , but the entire intake gullet/intakegrate/jetpump are located further towards the rear of the hull. Setback pump is made by skat trak and is a pump design feature.
matter of fact i just looked at the skat site setback article and it confirms that the veins are not moved back but just shortened. Also mentions hookup improvment because of the additional stored water in the intake gullet.
The setback has shorter veins than the regular. The length is taken off the front which allows the impeller to be further back . So it does have to do with the length of the veins. One reason the veins are shorter is that it reduces drag allowing for slightly higher speeds at a given rpm with no...
I used the KBS coatings on a carbon fiber motorcycle gas tank as recomended by KBS and it worked well . The muratic acid in the kit was not used but the etcher was , only the procedure was a little different than with a metal tank.
Last night while running the SJ with the arrestors off in the garage i could see a steady stream of gas flowing from the primer , two year old bulb type primer. I had been ready to tear the engine apart and It sure is good to find out the problem with a ski will only cost $20 to fix.
i have been running the 6lb sealed battery out of one of my yamaha r6 street bikes with great results. I am running yuasa sealed 4lb batteries in the bikes with no problems so i will try the 4lb next in the superjet. it is a yuasa ytz7s for around $80. I charge them for 12 hours before ever...
That BCW hood looks like one I have had since 99 , except for the cheesy handholds . Mine weighs 9lbs and is well made. I always taped up a couple of the air inlets when going into the ocean with it . It also needs some dryer hose on the inside to channel any water coming in , down and away from...
I still have jetdreams and watch it every couple of years. I probably watched it 20 times back in 88. Saw blue hiway in 86 and have the jetwaves also.
I would love to get some of these on a hi quality DVD . Especially jet dreams
I just pulled a jss sponge off my ski and threw on a stocker . That jss sponge absorbed water and transfered it into the engine compartment .Good thing I had outerwears because the carbs sucked the water off the sponge .
I just weighed my stock 2000 waterbox on a postal scale = 5lbs , so 3 lb savings + water with this x metal box . It sure is a tight fit getting it in and looks like I will have to cut a few inches off the stock long hose. Also put on a new stock hood gasket and the battery out of a yamaha R6...
sp125racing.com has a link to some detonation sensors that could possibly be made to work if you got two , since they are for single cylinders. These are a must have , if you really want to know what you motor is doing.I cannot belive they have not become mainstream in watercraft tuning.
A yuasa ytz7s weighs 4 1/2 lbs. and has 130 cold cranking amps. an extreme xtz7s weighs 3lbs. not sure the exact cca but it does almost as well as the yuasa in a sportbike.
I have been wondering the same thing about the largest SXR piston available.
I am also interested in larger bores on my bigbore SJ motors.I am at 86mm and there is plenty of sleeve left but the only pistons I have seen bigger than 86 , were 86.5 flat tops. There is enough sleeve for at least...
