Oven cleaner works very well, works like paint stripper tho.. If they blast it to coat it, it's never going to have that machined aluminum look that get with anodizing. You can do the clear powder coat but it doesn't hold up as good as blasting it and doing a nice hard coat.
Back at it recently..
Was stocking up on parts for getting ported this winter but I couldn't wait to put the 44's on. M
DASA intake manifold, added a second pulse line, modified my fuel pickups so I can feed each carb individually. Also added "clunks".
I also put the black cover back over...
Yea, bleach won't do anything.. You have to use hydrogen peroxide and some other chemicals combined to make a gel and then put in a clear bag, in direct sunlight. (Bleaching like you would hair)
Little Video from the few hours we spent riding the washing machine. Lots of fun, wind wasn't as bad as last weekend.
Please check out my YouTube channel for other videos I've uploaded.
Big thanks to all the junkies that are in the vids and providing some really cool footage. Makes editing...
Just get it hydro dipped. I was going to bleach mine first, but decided against it. Just going to hydro dip it which will stop any further yellowing and sun damage that causes cracking.
That works for black or grey faded plastics. The white stuff is caused by a chemical that is included in the ABS manufacturing to make it flame retardant.. That chemical reacts to sunlight to cause the yellowing. It's in the plastic. I don't think it's something that can be successfully and...
It's a lot of work, I was going to buy a bunch of chemicals to do a bunch, but there is no proof that it doesn't break down the plastic or have a long term disadvantage.
I'm going to hydro dip mine carbon fiber for poops and giggles. Will last forever, can incorporate a sight line.
Measured the stock impeller last night was a true 10/16. Put a pretty steep one in that was originally a 13/17. Went ahead and put a small pump cone on it. Going to see how it does.
Also the impeller was worn down quite a bit and had some pretty big gaps between the wear ring.
I'll be...
Well problem is, I have too much low end torque that it's over powering the impeller.. Putting a smaller pump cone on it will make it much worse. Smaller cone = more room for water to exit and frees the impeller of some load. So no that's not going to help. Thanks though.
Don't worry you will be getting your hands on it after the porting. I'm just trying to get by for now. Trying to get vertical without landing on my head before I put the ski down for winter project. :/
