I have two nice trek 26ers in the garage. Neither has been used other than letting my nephews ride them at the beach since I got my 29er. I didn't know if it was for me, but once I rode one, I ordered mine the next day.
If you don't mind a hard tail, the new Rockhopper 29er Comp is well...
I didn't meet Tim until 05 of this year. But I have heard all the stories of the bike years, lol. Great guy and one of the smartest people I have ever met.

We went out yesterday and my nephew has these new pedals that are flats on one side and clips on the other. Pretty sweet.

Brad and his friend David picked up these to beauties at the OC Rager last year. Brad ended up with a busted knee and David had to have ankle screws put in. Neither one of them has been the same since......

For those of you who don't know, my buddy brad - customrides - was injured while trying to mount a very large woman and ended up having to have knee surgery. So, since he has all this stuff laying around, I offered to build his BOB hull build for him. Finally got around to having some time...

Just like anything, time changes what top of the line is and technology makes great advances in 15 plus years.
My suggestion, check out craigslist or ebay. With 29ers being all the rage now, you can find pretty fantastic deals on nearly new 26ers.

I was down in the OBX over the summer and went in the local bike shop to pick up and pump. There in the showroom was a new fat bike. I got to admit, at first, I thought it was some kind of home made joke, but the more I looked at it and the more the owner talked about it, I half near wanted...
I was always told the same, that the valve is designed to allow air into the tank, but at a certain point, it will allow fumes to vent out. Not sure on the actual pressure that causes this, but it was just a thought. I am not 100% sure of this.
