Are you talking 1200 yamaha vs 1100 yamaha or 1200 yamaha vs 1100 kawi? 1200 yamaha is better and worth the money over the 1100 yamaha. You get carbs, better bottom end (what really matters on a blaster) more bore. Take the 1200, mill the head or go aftermarket, throw some flame arrestors...

You are NOT allowed to fill the pump tunnel, must remain stock if you are talking Open Spec. Just an FYI If you are talking about putting a SJ shoe in, you can fill in the void left by the stock shoe, but it can't be anymore than stock. Basically, you can't shrink down the entire tunnel. SM

When I can find one in good enough shape, I usually leave the red top deck alone. One buffed and polished, it looks great. Just never been a fan of the red/black cut up hood or white bottoms. SM

Some of the ones I have painted. All are graphics other than the solid hull, hood and bottom colors. I am a big fan of solid colors because you can always change the graphics to make the ski look different. Scottie
