My New Ride - all carbon Cannondale

I feel like a complete dumbass for buying it now.

On the bright side, had a great 50 minute ride this afternoon at the local trail. My legs will be in the best shape they have ever been in come next season! :)

mostly aluminum frame with carbon rearstays and forks. I did end up using clipless pedals (I even have carbon arch support in my clipless shoes for rigid support). The Speedplay pedals are pretty awesome and have a lot of freedom for foot movement/rotation but I dont like the idea of using them on a mountain bike. I can see the disadvantage for hillclimbs with platform pedals but when Im about to smash into something I dont want to have my feet locked in i guess

We went out yesterday and my nephew has these new pedals that are flats on one side and clips on the other. Pretty sweet.

I have completely fallen in love with the trails. All I got for xmas was cold weather riding gear! :)

I ended up selling the cannondale on ebay. TJ got me such a great deal on it, it ended up being a wash when I sold it.

Nice! I'm into my bikes for a decent price as well so I don't think I'd get beat up too bad on the price if I sold them. They don't owe me anything and I'd just piss the money away if I sold them anyway haha so I'll just keep looking at them I guess. I know where they are if I need them

Here is my new road bike. It is a full carbon cannondale road bike with sram components. This thing is awesome. Gotta give a big thanks to Tim Judge for setting me up with a great dealer - Bike World. Been riding like crazy these last few weeks. Legs should be ready to rock in the spring, that is for sure.

You mentioned Tim Judge, were the same age, back in '81 we were on a BMX track which was 300 hundred miles from my home even further for him. I took 2 place in my catagory I still have that bike and trophy !

I didn't meet Tim until 05 of this year. But I have heard all the stories of the bike years, lol. Great guy and one of the smartest people I have ever met.

So, I go into my lbs today to pick up some odds and ends. I get to talking to one of the techs and he mentions they just got in a new stumpy sworks fsr29. Ok, I knew they were nice, but never actually seen one in person. This thing was d@mn near as lite as my carbon road bike. I couldn't believe it. Amazing craftsmanship..... I was all over this thing...... Right up until he mentioned the price tag.....$10,500!!!! Holy $hit. I took one look at he guy and said....."this $hit is as expensive as freaking freestyle!'. :). Lol.

Ah, if only I was made of money! By the way, he also mentioned that some dude ordered that bike and an all carbon roadie with electric shifters at the same time. I couldn't imagine walking into a bike shope and dropping close to 20 grand on a pair of bikes. What recession? Lol
