Zimmy we do get clean rollers in the inlet every once in a while when the wind direction is offshore but if you go another 100 yards over in front of masonboro farther to your left you get clean organized rollers much more often. Alot of people didn't venture over there during this event...
From the discussions we had at the ride about the Outer Banks we came to the conclusion that they are pretty much totally anti jet skis due to it being federally owned land and not state owned. Alot of wildlife preserves and such.
I want to say thank you to everyone who came out this weekend and made this event happen! All in all I counted almost 40 skis and around 80 people came out this weekend, which in my opinion was amazing for a 1st time event!
This will now be a biannual event! Fall ride is being planned for...

Food for Thought: All the gas stations on Carolina Beach sell firewood for camp fires, but it's alot cheaper if you bring your own. It's like 5 dollars a bundle at the gas station. You also need a metal fire pit to burn the wood in!
Announcement! Please everyone make sure your skis are 100% legal to ride and try to have fire extinguishers at least nearby.
The USCG has been getting calls from people out at Freeman Park in the past few weeks from people saying couches were riding too close to swimmers out at the point so...
The herds of jellyfish you see are all cannonball jellies, they don't sting. You can pick them up and throw them. No biggie. First people will be out there thursday evening.
ANNOUNCEMENT: We have just learned that the town manager will be unable to section off a portion of the point for the freeride. So please everyone try and get out there as early as possible friday in order to secure yourselves a spot right on the water. Also try and keep the campsites close...
No $50 is for friday thru sunday. It would be an additional 20 for thursday night. Or if you plan on coming back again this year you can buy a season pass for $100 at several locations in Carolina Beach, which I plan on doing another Freeman Park Freeride ride late this summer or early fall.
A couple couches is no big deal. They aren't preferred but as long as there are only a couple it's fine. Could possibly help out with towing any broken down skis as well.
