The hull design is also excellent. It has features that have been copied by many designers starting with the wide rear rails, the concave pump inlet, and built in tubbies that let to where we are now with A/M hulls. The weight is the one huge drawback and it's just a bit too long.

Interlux makes a bilge paint, I know Crab has had good luck with it. Others like the epoxy appliance spray paint. That would be the cheapest route. I'll be looking for the same thing in a bit once my ski is finished.

If something is media blasted, isn't it already "etched" and would have enough tooth to hold paint? I've heard of using it on smoothe bare new metals, but is it needed on something that's been blasted?

Ya, the only thing I'm worried about is planing afterward and having basically 2 planing surfaces. One between where the front rocker stops and where the rear rocker starts, and where the rear rocker starts and the rear of the ski. I'd hate to have a teeter totter effect on that transitional...

Lol, me too.... I dug through all kinds of pictures trying to figure out if I wanted to cut the back of mine and add "rocker" or side cut or whatever. It's still on the back of my mind, we'll see. Hard to determine if it's worth all the extra work.
